You've heard the expression....

Stay in your own backyard. That is exactly what we decided to do this summer, literally and figuratively. Instead of traveling to some distant locale we are enjoying some of the beautiful places and interesting sights that this area has to offer. We started with a short hike in Bell Canyon. The trail head is 10 minutes from my front door. After an easy 1 ½ mile hike you see this lake surrounded by pine trees and scrub oak. It is fed from the melting snow in the higher elevations.

We ate lunch and headed home.
