Every morning I go for a walk in my favorite park. It is located about 2 miles from my house and sits on top of a mesa overlooking the valley. I remember when this park was first opened. The trees looked like sticks that had just been stuck in the ground. They seemed so fragile and vulnerable. A small gust of wind would conquer them. A heavy snow would lay them flat. Now however the trees have substantial trunks and they offer generous amounts of shade. When I am walking it is hard not to be distracted by the surrounding beauty. To the east are mountains and to the north you can see Salt Lake City. I took this photo as the sun was coming up. Such serenity!
Have a great day.

I **LOVE** sunrise...just wish it didn't come so darned early!! And yes, we love that park as well..we call it "Charlie's Park" -(our little dog Charlie) when he was about to be put down (cancer - 2 operations- no luck)we drove thru McDonald's and got him a hamburger (we never let him have "people food") then we drove to the park (and let him put his head out the window-another thing we would never let him do) and he got to rest and eat his burger..walk around a little in the sunshine..then to the vet's.. :-( His passing was sweet and we held him though the whole thing..of course, we were a mess for months! Anyway, I will ALWAYS love that park..Charlie's Park
ReplyDeleteWow, what a way to start the day! Lucky you.
ReplyDeleteA lovely photo, Gail, and what a delightful way to start each day! I, too, like to watch trees over time as they grow wide and open up to the sky. Unfortunately, there are the odd hooligans who consider it fun to snap saplings in half. We're on a third planting of trees in the little park behind my house...thankfully they've been left alone to form a charming avenue of Weeping Willows!
ReplyDeleteI remember how the mountains around Salt Lake City surprised me when we visited last year...I hadn't realized the city was nestled into them as Vancouver is here.
So glad you stopped by and I do hope you have a wonderful week...

Late visit but better than not.....
ReplyDeleteI love the mountains in our state. Lived where there weren't any a few times and hated it. Love your special park too. If I lived closer, I'd take that early walk with you. I love summer mornings. Enjoy yours Breezy:)
